A truck driver, Suraju Adeyemi, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing his conductor, identified only as Jelili, in the Alakuko area of the state.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the deceased had hung onto the body of the truck without the knowledge of the driver. While the suspect was about to make a U-turn, the victim reportedly fell on the ground and he was crushed by the vehicle’s tyres.
Jelili reportedly died on the spot, and his remains were deposited at the Onipanu General Hospital,
Ota, Ogun State.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the death, said policemen from the Ikotun division towed the vehicle to their station. Dolapo, a Superintendent of Police, added that investigations were ongoing.
